Global Principles & Community Guidelines

The community of 9Chain, a multi-chain network for everyone.

The 9Chain Forum is the community of 9Chain: a shared space where anyone, anywhere, in any language, can ask, discuss, learn, vote, connect and build together. These principles apply to every category of the forum. Individual communities may add their own rules, but they can never remove these.

The English version of this page is the official one. Translations are provided for convenience; if they differ, the English version applies.

Part 1 — Global Principles

Twelve principles in three groups: People, Conversation and Power.

People

Who the forum is for.

1. Everyone is welcome

The forum does not rank people by nationality, location, profession, wealth, status or how much they know. An expert writing a long study and a beginner asking a simple question both belong here. Treat every newcomer the way you would want to be treated on your first day.

2. Every topic, handled with care

Science, faith, politics, money, health, family, sport, culture: any subject people care about can be discussed. Some topics are sensitive. Discuss them with more care, not less honesty.

3. Global principles, local context

The world has many cultures, histories and ways of speaking. These global principles apply everywhere. Communities may add rules suited to their topic or place. No single culture’s norms are assumed to be the standard for the whole world.

4. Your language is welcome

Write in the language you are most comfortable with. The forum translates posts so others can read them in theirs, and you can always view the original. English is the reference language for official pages.

Conversation

How we talk with each other.

5. Disagree with ideas, not with people

Disagreement is welcome; it is how understanding grows. Challenge arguments, evidence and conclusions. Never attack the person making them. Insults, name-calling and mockery are not arguments.

6. Be honest and show your sources

Say what you know, and say when you are not sure. When you state facts, link to where they come from. Do not knowingly spread false information. If you were wrong, say so. Correcting yourself earns respect here.

7. Help, don’t sell

The forum is for sharing knowledge, not for collecting money. Using it to solicit investment, promise returns, or push referral links is not allowed. The forum itself never holds your money, sells tokens or promises profit. Anyone who claims to do so in the forum’s name is not us.

8. A poll shows who voted, nothing more

Polls and votes on the forum reflect the people who took part, at the time they took part, under the rules of that vote. They do not speak for everyone, everywhere, and they carry no legal authority. When you share a result, say how many people voted and when.

Power

How influence is earned, used and limited.

9. Real people, clearly labeled AI

Behind every account should be a real person, and one person should have one account. AI assistants and bots are welcome as helpers, but they must always be clearly labeled as AI. They do not vote, they do not earn contribution points, and they never make final moderation decisions.

The same applies to what you post. If AI wrote your post, or most of it, say so at the top, for example “Drafted with AI, reviewed by me.” You stay responsible for every word. Using AI only to fix spelling, grammar or translation of your own words does not need a label. Automatic translations on the forum are always marked as translated, and the original is one click away.

10. Power is a duty, not a status

Moderators and stewards are trusted by the community to serve it. Their powers are limited to where they serve, recorded, open to review, and can be withdrawn. Every moderation decision can be appealed, and the appeal is reviewed by someone other than the person who made the original decision.

11. Contribution is history, not money

Points, badges and leaderboards recognise what you have given to the community. They are not currency and do not automatically grant authority. Being at the top of a leaderboard does not make someone a moderator.

12. The forum belongs to the people who take part

The forum serves the 9Chain ecosystem, but no project, team or person owns the conversation here. Criticising 9Chain, LOVE9 or anything built on them is allowed when it is argued and sourced. Nobody is removed for disagreeing with the team, and no space holds permanent priority because of who started it.

Part 2 — Community Guidelines

Before you post

  • Search first. Your question may already have a great answer.
  • Pick the right place. Choose the category that fits best. If you are unsure, pick the closest one; a moderator can move it.
  • New here? Start with Start Here and How LOVE9F Points work.

Writing well

  • Use a clear title that says what the post is about.
  • Keep one topic per post.
  • Give enough context for someone from another country or field to understand.
  • Link to your sources, and credit other people’s work.
  • When your question gets a good answer, mark it as the Solution. It helps the next person.

Replying well

  • Stay on topic. Start a new topic for a new subject.
  • Add something: an answer, an argument, a source, an experience. A simple “+1” is better as a Like.
  • Assume good intent, especially when someone writes in a second language or their message was translated.

Not allowed anywhere on the forum

  • Harassment, threats, bullying or targeting a person or group.
  • Hate speech or content that dehumanises people for who they are.
  • Encouraging violence, self-harm or terrorism.
  • Sexual content involving minors, or sexual content outside communities that explicitly allow it.
  • Sharing someone’s private information without consent.
  • Spam, scams, phishing, malware or deceptive links.
  • Investment solicitation, guaranteed-return schemes, pyramid or referral schemes.
  • Asking for, or sharing, passwords, private keys or seed phrases.
  • Wallet-connect, claim, airdrop or “verify your wallet” links.
  • Offering support by private message to someone who asked for help in public.
  • Impersonating a person, organisation or forum staff, including a username, display name or avatar that suggests you speak for 9Chain, LOVE9, a project team or support when you do not. Official team members carry a flair given by staff.
  • Multiple accounts, vote manipulation or coordinated fake activity.
  • Asking for likes, trading likes or reactions, or liking your own posts from another account, to gain points.
  • Undisclosed bots or AI accounts pretending to be human.
  • Posting AI-written content as your own without saying so.
  • Copying others’ work without credit, or content that breaks the law.

Money, markets and crypto

9Chain is a blockchain network, so money is part of the conversation. These rules keep it from taking the place over.

Price talk is not what the forum is for. Posts that are mainly about price, charts, trading or “is now a good time” may be closed or removed, so that the building, support and governance spaces stay usable.

What is always required.

  • Disclose your stake. If you hold, work for, advise or are paid by what you discuss, say so in the post.
  • Paid posts carry the Sponsored label, including posts by partners and by the 9Chain team. A post that was paid for and not labelled is removed.
  • Analysis, not instructions. Explain your reasoning so others can disagree with it. Do not tell people to buy or sell.
  • Nothing here is financial advice, and nobody here is your financial adviser.

What is never allowed.

  • Promising returns, “guaranteed”, “risk-free”, “x100” and the like.
  • Coordinating buying or selling to move a price, in public or in private messages.
  • Asking anyone to send money, tokens or NFTs to a personal address.
  • Posting a wallet-connect or claim link, even if you believe it is genuine. Link the official announcement instead.
  • Reselling access to something that is free here.

Bounties, grants and campaigns. A bounty post must state the task, the reward, who decides, and the deadline. A campaign must publish its rules and dates before it starts. If a reward is later changed or cancelled, that must be posted in the same topic.

Points come from helping people understand, build and decide, not from posting about price.

Safety, because this is crypto.

  • Nobody from the forum, 9Chain or LOVE9 will ever message you first, ask for your seed phrase or private key, ask you to connect your wallet, or ask you to move funds “to verify” anything. Anyone who does is an impostor: flag it.
  • Real support happens in public, in Start Here. Someone who moves your support question into a private message is almost always a scammer.
  • The forum never holds your money, sells tokens or promises profit. Any offer made in the forum’s name outside this site is not us.

If you see a problem

Flag it rather than replying in anger. Flags go to the moderators. Accurate flags help keep the forum safe and count as a contribution.

How moderation works

  1. New members’ posts are checked automatically when they are published. A post may be hidden, or held for review, if it looks like spam or a scam, or when several members flag it.
  2. Moderators review flags and may edit, hide, move or remove content, or limit an account.
  3. Serious or repeated violations can lead to suspension or removal.
  4. You can appeal any decision by posting in Feedback, in About 9Chain Forum. A different person reviews your appeal.

AI tools help moderators spot spam or abuse, and may hide a post until a moderator has looked at it. A human makes every final decision.

Trust grows with participation

Members move up through five trust levels as they take part in good faith. Each level unlocks more ways to help.

Trust levels are earned, not assigned. Stewards are different: they are people a community asks to take on a responsibility, for a defined scope and term. Stewardship is based on trust, participation within that community, and community review, not on points alone, and it can never be bought.

Community rules

Each community may publish additional rules in its “About” topic. Those rules can make things stricter, but they cannot contradict these global principles.

Changing these principles

Anyone can propose a change in Feedback. Changes are discussed openly before they are adopted, and every version is kept so everyone can see what changed and why.

The 9Chain Forum succeeds when more people find each other, understand each other, learn from each other, and can do together what none could do alone.
