**One network, many ways to contribute. Every contribution is recorded.** ## 1. What 9Chain is 9Chain is **a multi-chain network, for everyone** : a Layer 1 and a platform for creating and operating _sovereign chains_. The project’s shared page is **[9chain.org](https://9chain.org)**, and its documentation is **[docs.9chain.org](https://docs.9chain.org)**. A sovereign chain is _“a chain of your own, not a tenancy”_: your own validators, your own rules, your own governance — for an individual, a business, a school, a community or a city. ## 2. Two test networks, side by side 9Chain runs **two public test networks in parallel** , built on two different engines: | | 9Chain A1 | 9Chain C1 | | --- | --- | --- | | Site | [a1.9chain.org](https://a1.9chain.org) | [c1.9chain.org](https://c1.9chain.org) | | Explorer | [a1.9scan.org](https://a1.9scan.org) | [c1.9scan.org](https://c1.9scan.org) | The order is alphabetical and carries no ranking. Both sides will be measured the same way, the measurements published, and then **the community votes** on which engine the official network is built on. That vote is **not open yet** — anyone asking you to register to “hold your place in the vote” is offering something that does not exist. Test-network balances are test money, not assets. Try both, then decide together. ## 3. LOVE9: Coin and Points are different things - **LOVE9 Coin** is the native coin of the 9Chain network. The project does **not** sell it, list it, support its price or promise returns. Economic figures in the documentation are _proposed_, not final. - **LOVE9 Points** are community points on [9chain.com](http://9chain.com): not assets, not transferable, not the network’s token. Whether they ever convert to anything has **not been decided**. ## 4. Many ways to contribute Running a **Simulated Node** on [9chain.com](https://www.9chain.com) is _one_ way to take part — not the only one, and not what 9Chain is. Today you can also: - complete **quests** and invite friends on [9chain.com](http://9chain.com); - **try the two test networks** A1 and C1 and share what you measure; - **propose, discuss and vote** here on the forum; - **build** : apps, tools, and your own sovereign chain; - **help others** , translate, and report problems. More forms of participation — such as activity here on the forum, games, mini-games and events — may be added in the future. Nothing is promised until it is announced. ## 5. Why contributions are recorded Contributions are recorded so they can serve as a **reference** — for a future airdrop, for rewards, and for roles in the community. **How** that reference is used is not decided: the community will propose and vote on it. Start in **[Airdrop](https://forum.9chain.com/c/airdrop/46)** and **[Governance](https://forum.9chain.com/c/governance/23)**. ## 6. Stay safe The official channels are a **closed list** ([docs.9chain.org](http://docs.9chain.org) → _Security and disclosure_): - documentation: **[docs.9chain.org](http://docs.9chain.org)** - each branch’s own site: **[a1.9chain.org](http://a1.9chain.org)** · **[c1.9chain.org](http://c1.9chain.org)** - mail: **[contact@9chain.org](mailto:contact@9chain.org)** - community questions: **[Telegram: View @LOVE\_9Chain](http://t.me/LOVE_9Chain)** There is no staff member who messages you first, and no project wallet that takes your money. Never share your seed phrase. Your [9Chain.com](http://9Chain.com) password goes only into the sign-in page of **[www.9chain.com](http://www.9chain.com)**. This forum is a community space for 9Chain. Announcements count only when they also appear on the official channels above. ## 7. Thanks for this guide! Very helpful for new members. I’m from Kano, Nigeria and I now understand what 9Chain is about. Excited to contribute and run a Simulated Node. Great community! ---
